IT Makeover ™, Casting Call for Senior Developers/Infrastructure Experts

IT Makeover (www.itmakeover.com) is a filmed production (similar to shows such as ABC’s “Extreme Home Makeover”) that is looking for a permanent, salaried cast of *hands-on* programmers and infrastructure experts to tackle big projects. It’s the job you’ve been dreaming of: Nikki Calbrese (producer for MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”) and CEO of Infusion development, Gregory Brill, are launching a reality-tv development program where a team of experts will take on huge projects under tight timelines for major municipalities (such as New York City, Mayor’s office) and hip, high profile companies, such as Elite Modeling agency.

This is an opportunity you’ll never see again…so if you think you have the right stuff, ask yourself if the following describes you: You are an amazing "hands on" developer or infrastructure expert, you are the technical “go to” guy/gal in your organization (but you’d really rather be surrounded by people who were just as good or better than you). You hate excuses and believe anything is possible with enough thought and work. But there’s another side to you as well. Not only can you implement a development solution, regardless of how complex, you are also charismatic in your own way, a “character”. You like attention, and you’d like an opportunity to show the world what an expert under the gun can do with the right technology in record time. You want to be a star that everyone in the IT industry will know.

Cast Member Requirements

1. You must be willing to appear/speak on film and be comfortable participating in live recordings as well as directed reconstructions of past events.
2. You must be an extremely good developer. In addition to one deep development skillset and established track record of bringing in complex projects on time, you must be able to ramp up phenomenally quickly on additional products and development libraries.
3. You must be charismatic, well spoken, or a “character” in some way. That is, we are looking for personalities and backgrounds that will lend themselves to film.
4. You must be comfortable with very aggressive timelines, sometimes ambiguous client specifications, and willing to travel. This is a phenomenally rewarding, but very demanding job.
5. You must be willing to be based full time out of New York City, Toronto, Canada or Seattle, WA
6. You must be willing to be based full time out of New York City or Toronto, Canada.
7. You must be one of those people who can learn complicated technologies quickly.

Hard Skills:

The initial projects for IT Makeover will be Microsoft-centric (We will ultimately auditioning for one additional cast, cast #2, with J2EE and Open Source skills.)

Keep in mind that we are looking first and foremost for hands-on programmers and infrastructure experts. Management/executive experience is valued, but cast members have to perform the work themselves.

The ideal skillset for this audition will include deep skills in one or more of the following:

Development: .NET (dotNET) , C# (CSharp), VS.NET, ASP.NET (You must have DEEP expertise here and be able to point to implementations you have written yourself)

Infrastructure: Active Directory, ADAM, Exchange, Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM)

Product: SharePoint Portal (SPS), BizTalk, Content Management Server (CMS), SQL 2005, Business Intelligence Portal (BIP), SQL Reporting Services (SRS)

Special Skills: SPS Web Part creation, WSS programming, BizTalk adapter authoring, Information Bridge Framework (IBF) or other development for MS Office
